The tree to the west of the entrance to the World Music Hall is hollow, and in bad shape. It will be removed this summer, after classes end but before summer classes start.  

Remove (1) medium-sized oak to allow the replacement of a large drain line in Butterfield complex. The tree is between the building and the parking lot, and is growing directly on top of the drain line. The tree roots have grown into, and destroyed, the line.

Remove and prune trees to provide building clearance. Remove dead trees and overgrown shrubs from yard and foundation. Clear area for renovation of the house and safety of the occupants. Trees will be marked, and the removal will be before March 1, 2005.

This huge old copper beech has succumbed to years of insects and disease, and will be removed before more branches fall.

This maple, nestled in the small stand of trees, has quietly died, and been hidden from view by the rest of the trees. It will be removed this summer.

This beech at Foss 5 has beech bark disease, and is terminal.

There are a few hemlocks left that are succumbing to the adelgid. Although we sprayed twice a year, the bugs returned, and have killed most of the hemlocks on campus.

Traffic, snow and salt got this one.
